Phil & Pat's Web Home Page
This is the personal web home of composer/oboist/teacher Dr. Patricia Morehead and pianist, conductor, vocal coach, and editor Philip Morehead.
After 34 years at Lyric Opera of Chicago, Phil has retired as of the end of 2014-15 season, finishing with a remarkable production of Weinberg's The Passenger. Pat and Phil will move to Canada (Dwight, Ontario) to spend more time with their children and grandchildren and continue their musical lives. Phil will work at the Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy in July (as he did two summers ago) and will be involved in the Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton, Ontario, in August.
Pat has had a busy teaching season, with courses at Columbia College and Dominican University. She will retire from teaching this spring. She has completed her opera Black Hawk Speaks, which will receive its first reading by the Millennium Orchestra conducted by Francesco Milioto. She will also perform in recital with organist/pianist Donna Brunsma and her husband in May, 2015.
Pat is a member of the group 6 Degrees Composers with Regina Harris Baiocchi, Janice Misurell-Mitchell, Dolores White, Elizabeth Wilson, Esq. and Ann Ward. Email them for more information and to join their mailing list.
Pat's new CD, Brass Rail Blues, has just been released on the Navona label by Parma Recordings and distributed by Naxos.
