Phil & Pat's Web Home Page
This is the personal web home of composer/oboist/teacher Dr. Patricia Morehead and pianist, conductor, vocal coach, and editor Philip Morehead.
Phil worked the last two summers at the Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton, Ontario, which is an operatic apprentice program founded and overseen by world-renowned tenor Richard Margison and his multi-talented wife Valerie Kuinka, stage director and violist. He will again work with them in August 2018, conducting their summer production of Puccini's La bohème. Phil is a member of the Muskoka Big Band and the Loft Singers in Huntsville.
Pat's new choral work entitled A Summer Rain on poetry by Mike Shain was premiered on May 9, 2017 at 7pm by the Highlands Festival Singers, The College Community Choir of Lindsay, and the North Hastings Community Choir under the direction of Melissa Stephens at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School, Haliburton, Ontario, and earlier in Bancroft and Lindsay, Ontario. In August another new work, How oft when thou play'st for vocal quartet and piano (a setting of Shakespeare's Sonnet 128), was premiered by the Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton and will have its American premiere in Chicago on November 19 at Roosevelt University by members of Chamber Opera Chicago.
